Let’s not forget, it’s not just the 4th of July, it’s Independence Day!
I love that word…
Independent: (1.) free from outside control; not depending on another’s authority. (2.) not depending on another for livelihood or subsistence.
Living this life on the road is just that, and I love it.
We didn’t want to be dependent on jobs that we really didn’t like to pay the bills (or debt) for things that we really didn’t need. Having to always answer to or be beholden to someone else is highly overrated.
Michelle has a job she loves. She has been building her Color Street business for over two years and her income alone has sustained this mobile lifestyle.
I would say that having the “independence” mindset is a prerequisite for living this nomad life. From being completely debt free to having a couple of solar panels…not having to answer to someone else to simply just live is pretty…how you say…awesome. Now of course we do rely on certain establishments and people to live this life, but the list gets shorter and shorter the more you work at keeping freedom in your sights.
Let’s keep the independence mindset going. Even if you’re not interested in living in an rv full time, you can still adopt the principles by simply paying off that credit card, ditching the car payments and paying off that house. Freedom is addictive and I highly recommend it.
