The water pump! Yep, the water pump failed and caused our little setback. No worries though. Rackley Dodge in Winnemucca managed to fix us up to get us back on the road.

Unfortunately they didn’t have a factory water pump in stock but after placing an order for one they received it the following day and had everything buttoned up. Being that our travel schedule is pretty relaxed, we just rolled with it and found the positives of this setback…having full hookups, doing laundry…you know, the little things.

It wasn’t a cheap fix however, but since we were prepared for situations like this to arise it wasn’t that big of a problem. As mentioned in a previous post, getting out of debt is one of the keys to living the life that we wanted. If Michelle and I hadn’t changed our thinking and our behavior with our finances, this costly fix would have been a major issue. Setting money aside for unforeseen emergencies is what we had learned by enrolling in Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University.

It’s common sense really to save for situations like this. Unfortunately nowadays I find that it’s not so common. Many people struggle with their money life. Living paycheck to paycheck, trying to pay off seemingly never ending debt. We used to live that life…and it sucked.

I felt like we had no control over our life. Creditors essentially dictated what we could or could not do. Wanna go on a trip? Sorry, credit card bill due. Like that new T.V.? Keep dreamin. Wanna go out to eat? Don’t even think about it. We had had enough of that. We wanted more. We wanted freedom.

Do you have debt preventing you from achieving your goals or living out a dream? If so, just imagine for a second that you have that credit card paid off, that student loan is nonexistent and even your mortgage is a thing of the past…how does it feel? What does your life look like? What could you do with all that money you’d be saving every month? Intriguing isn’t it?

No matter where you are at in life with your finances, no matter what your goals or dreams are, you can absolutely get your money life back on track. Ditch the debt and live the life you want. Don’t let it hold you back.

Plan for the life you want! Live intentionally to reach your goals! Inspire others with your story! Make it happen!
