This is the kind of stuff that makes this life on the road awesome. Now if we lived in Helena permanently there is a good chance that an attraction like this would lose its magic.  After a while it may just be referred to as the “carousel on the other end of town.”  But for us explorers it becomes this great memory that we will share as a family.  Finding the little hidden gems in the towns we visit make our sacrifices…well…not feel like sacrifices at all.

There is a certain nostalgia to carousels.  It’s fun for all ages to hop on your animal of choice and go for a spin.  The construction alone is a work of art.  Wood, brass, lights, the intricate details and paint work create a moving art installation.  And topping it off with an ice cream cone gives it that perfect Americana atmosphere that I am all about.

Next time you visit a carousel take a moment to pay attention to the specific parts of the ride, you will be pleasantly surprised.
